Who I am

We all have different parts that make us who we are. Loyalty helps us stay true to our values and loved ones. Power gives us the strength to control our lives and chase our dreams. Empathy helps us connect with others and understand their feelings. Non-judgmental acceptance allows us to explore our thoughts and emotions without fear. Finally, being open-hearted and open-minded encourages growth and new ideas. Together, these qualities create a strong identity, reminding us that embracing our different sides helps us live genuinely and kindly.

I work to create safe spaces for all, where every individual can feel seen, heard, and valued. My commitment to inclusivity drives me to provide care that thoughtfully acknowledges your unique experiences related to race, ethnicity, gender, age, abilities, sexual orientation, national origin, religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, and any other identities that matter to you. I appreciate the opportunity to be challenged by you, as your insights are invaluable; you are the expert in your own life. Together, we can build an environment where your needs and stories are respected and celebrated, fostering growth and healing in a genuinely affirming way.

Where I come from

Growing up in Arizona as the oldest of four children in a blended family shaped my perspective on relationships and family dynamics from an early age. After spending 20 years in the lush Pacific Northwest, I returned to Arizona, drawn back by its sunny skies and vibrant sunsets that always bring a sense of peace. My academic journey led me to earn a bachelor's degree in Family and Human Services and a master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Arizona and Oregon, I embrace various roles in my life—mother, partner, and friend—allowing me to connect deeply with others and support their journeys toward healing and growth.

Throughout my journey in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including children facing behavioral stressors and attachment struggles, and adults grappling with eating disorders. My experience in community mental health agencies and in-patient residential treatment centers has equipped me to address the unique challenges faced by these individuals. Additionally, I have partnered with organizations like the HIV Alliance to support those living with HIV, and I’ve actively engaged with the LGBTQ+ community to foster inclusivity and understanding. Serving the homeless population has highlighted the importance of compassionate care, while my involvement with NAMI has strengthened my commitment to mental health education and advocacy. I am particularly passionate about addressing women’s issues, recognizing the critical need for tailored support that empowers women to heal and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
